About

Hi, I’m Mary, and welcome to Finance with Mary.

I started this blog with one simple belief: managing money shouldn’t feel scary, complicated or full of guilt. Most of us were never taught how to budget, pay off debt or build savings. We were simply expected to figure it out. This site is the friendly guide I wish I’d had.

What you’ll find here

  • Budgeting made simple: step-by-step guides to building a budget that fits real life.
  • Getting out of debt: clear plans, honest advice and tools to help you become debt-free and stay that way.
  • Saving money: emergency funds, sinking funds and fun savings challenges.
  • A healthier money mindset: practical habits that make money feel calmer.

My approach

I believe in progress, not perfection. There are no lectures here about skipping your morning coffee. Instead, you’ll find practical, realistic steps you can start today, whatever your income. Every article is written to be clear, honest and easy to act on.

I also create planners and spreadsheets to help you put these ideas into action. You can find them in the shop. Buying from the shop helps keep this blog running, so thank you.

An important note

The content on this website is for general education and information only. I’m not a licensed financial adviser, and nothing here is personal financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Everyone’s situation is different, so please consider speaking with a qualified professional before making major financial decisions. You can read more in our Disclaimer.
